SÍNDROME DE I.A.

AI SYNDROME

The advancement of technology is unstoppable, that is beyond dispute , but it is not free from controversy , especially with regard to AI, service automation and the move towards an increasingly dehumanized society.

Many people think that AI is a tool to make things easier for us, but the question is, do we really need everything made easier for us ? Do we need a machine to think for us ? What kind of world does that lead us to ?

AI is endangering the work of artists. Cartoonists, writers, actors, filmmakers, musicians etc. And that's just the beginning ...

This also reopens old dilemmas such as piracy, copyright and the limits of creative freedom. One could think of DJs, who use samples of other songs to create new songs or remix other songs, 2PAC holograms etc... The line between abuse, copying or plagiarism is very fine but also very evident.

We must differentiate the cases in which technology is on our side and when it harms us. Think about the autocorrects that we all carry on our phones and that stunt our level of writing, or the cash machines that give change automatically, stunting our level of calculation.

New generations that will no longer know how to write or give change, intellectually stunted and automated businesses, I wish you luck when you collide head-on with the real world (I witnessed, in a bar with a cash register, that day the power went out and they could do NOTHING, not even open it to give change by hand, incredible!)

I grew up in a world where the internet was free. A space to connect and share with everyone and you really felt that sensation when you connected: there were no limits! You could download music, video games, any movie, books, and porn (god, so much porn!) and it never felt like stealing or piracy to me. Now it's all censorship and if you want to watch a movie you have to pay for a platform and pray that your favorite movies are there.

An artist, when he creates his work and shares it with the world (I emphasize SHARE) has to know that this work already belongs to the world, otherwise he should not share it and keep it in his house for him. Of course you deserve recognition as an author and for your work to be treated with respect and to earn money, but what you cannot expect is to be charging for it for a lifetime as happens with copyright, that kills creativity. Those from the FRIENDS series continue to collect royalties years after their broadcast, and that is why we have not had another series like that. No one can own an idea, every idea arises from another and we are all inspired by the great creators who led the way and we follow their legacy. It is sad to know that many of them died poor or were not recognized until years after their death...

Nor do I mean by all this that we have to go back to the typewriter. In fact, I myself admit that for this article I have occasionally used the spell checker (although more out of my insecurity than out of technological dependency) being aware of its usefulness as another tool (I also used "El Rincón del Vago" a lot in my high school days).

Also myself, as an artist I was always reluctant to technology, photoshops and things like that. Nobody took me away from my brushes, my rotuses and traditional art until I discovered digital drawing apps and they are great!! They allow you a lot of resources in a very intuitive way and you save a lot of money on materials, it is fun to learn and evolve with them as they are updated (some even allow you to do animation) you can draw all day from your mobile and many of them are free (they give more than they receive, contribute something, don't be rats) They do exactly what technology should do, like the lever: give us the tools so that we ourselves can do the work a little easier, humanity and technology in symbiotic harmony...

Personally, about the I.A. I think it's just a fad, an attempt to distract us from the world's real problems. They can never replace authentic artists , but we must be cautious. Automation has already been introduced into other areas, such as supermarkets and gas stations, replacing human staff, and there's no doubt that's their ultimate goal.

It's no secret that those who govern us—I mean those who REALLY govern us, those who pull the strings of presidents and bureaucrats —want us to be dazed, frightened, and, above all, devoid of creativity or imagination . It's also known that they aren't even human; they're vampires who feed on our fears, our confusion , our hatred, and our insecurities, and they 're starving to death!

I'm a big fan of Stephen King and I'm sure he knows something about it. In many of his books he refers to an energy , glow or power that we all have, especially children (he's definitely referring to imagination ) and how there are beings that feed on it. In Doctor Sleep, there's a particularly graphic, gruesome chapter that tells how a child is drained of this energy through torture, stress , and suffering, prolonging his agony to squeeze more juice out of him, undoubtedly referencing adrenochrome and rituals that, thankfully, are not so hidden.

Also in his most famous book "IT", which is about a demon that feeds on fear and children are its favorite prey, he tells us how this monster remains in hibernation and every 23 years I think I remember, it wakes up and starts a massacre in the town where the story takes place . A real carnage , with murders and disappearances of children, and then everything returns to normal, the creature goes back to sleep, and the townspeople forget everything that happened and dismiss it as a one-off, an isolated incident, until it starts again. As if they were trapped in a macabre loop or somehow alienated .

I see all of this reflected in reality. It's known that there are worldwide pedophilia and prostitution networks . We all know it, but no one does or says anything, precisely as if humanity were alienated from seeing or avoiding reality ... Something macabre is moving among us , and more and more people are becoming aware of it.

That's why they attack us, and they don't even hide it anymore. They have an agenda and their attacks are becoming more and more deliberate. They know that a change of era is coming and more and more people are waking up and are Desperate . We creative, dreamy, positive, and imaginative people are their enemies. They want to robotize human beings and turn them into programmable beings lacking in creativity.

Technology must be used to help humanity and we must evolve alongside it, we cannot allow it to replace us, there are too many science fiction books and movies . warning us of the (Syndrome himself, the Incredibles  villain, created robots that ended up turning against him)

Finally, a message to all those millionaire tycoons : Shove your AI and your useless rockets up your asses and start promoting technology that benefits humanity, such as curing world hunger!

I apologize for my language and if I've rambled a bit, and I thank you for taking the time to read this article . I ask that you keep your hope and energy high. They're advancing in the battle, but we'll win the war! Good movies , good music , artists, and poets will return . etc. We will witness a rebirth. And to all those talentless charlatans who pretend to use AI to steal ideas and styles, I say start studying or developing some talent of your own because otherwise we will point you out and humiliate you as happened recently with Studio Ghibli. That's what I say ! That's what DEF says !!!

Because, taking Síndrome's words as my own , when everyone is an artist, no one will be!!
